Personal History and Origin:
            Jaycen was born on the small colony of Toria VI.  While he displayed a Genius IQ at an early age, his body wasn’t catching up.  At the age of 5, he was diagnosed with Encephalitis, a genetic disease that would shut off access to the higher brain functions, as he grew older.  While at a visit to the doctor, Jaycen started having seizures due to his illness.  After getting him to calm down, his father contacted some people he knew and brought in doctors that specialized in GeneTech.
            For the next three years, Jaycen underwent treatment and treatment to eliminate and replace the genes associated with Encephalitis.  Throughout this time, most of the procedures were extremely painful and would have left him scarred for life if not for the enhancements they added.  They edited the rest of his genetic structure, giving him an increased agility, improved reactions, higher level of processing in the brain, and an ability to run at in increased speed for a short period of time.  While most of these new abilities don’t have an impact on him, the burst of speed causes him to be exhausted and hungry from the amount of energy that is burned during the speed boost.  He tries to avoid using the speed boost as much as possible, even slowing himself down during PT to the minimum requirement.  The only ability he hasn’t hidden, mainly because of his already high intelligence, is the faster processing within his brain.


            Once the treatments were done, his family decided to have his medical records altered to hide what they had done to him.  And they told Jaycen that he couldn’t tell anyone about what happened to him or they would be jailed because it was illegal within Federation space.  He understood their point and agreed that it would be a hindrance if people found out that he had been altered.  His parents home schooled him until he was old enough to go to High School.
            While in high school, Jaycen became bored with the math and computer classes because his father had shown him how this stuff when he was getting home schooled.  After spending what little time he needed to complete the assignments, Jaycen started writing code.  Nearing his graduation from High School, acting on a dare from one of friends, he infected the school’s computer with a virus that gave everyone A’s.  After purging the virus and restoring the computer system, Jaycen was arrested.  Since he was eighteen at the time, he was charged with Malicious Destruction of Government Property.  He pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted the plea bargain of entering the Marine Corps once he graduated from High School.


            Upon entering the Marine Corps, Jaycen was quickly selected for Special Forces once he completed Basic due to his high intelligence and reactions.  He quickly grasped the Hand-to-Hand training and excelled in it thanks to his increased reflexes and agility.  The same went for the firing range.  He was offered to become a Marine Force Scout Sniper because of his high scores on the shooting range.  He would have accepted if not for the blanket party this drill platoon held in his honor.  Sore from the beating he took, he didn’t turn anyone in when his Drill Sergeant asked him who attacked him.  Getting the hint that he was outperforming everyone in the platoon, he slowly regressed in performing just above average.  Just enough to keep his invitation to the Special Forces branch open.  Once he completed Basic, and moved on to his AOE, Jaycen felt more at home with his new platoon.  They at least didn’t care about him outstripping them on the field.


            After completing the AOE training, and receiving the various Honors that he had achieved during his time there, Jaycen was assigned to the Black Knights platoon for his first tour of duty.  Resentful of his intelligence, the Commanding Officer, Major Jack Nelson, dumped every assignment he could find onto Jaycen.  He completed each assignment without question until he was ordered to set fire to a civilian building.  Upon confirming that the CO didn’t have the authority to order that, Jaycen confronted him with the order.  Jack insisted on the order and Jaycen caught him in the jaw with a right cross.  Both of them were arrested and charged with various crimes.  After the investigation, Jaycen was acquitted of most of the charges, except for striking a higher-ranking officer.  He understood why this charge stayed since Jack had a glass jaw.  He accepted the offered plea of a demotion to Lance Corporal and 60 days incarceration.  While in the brig, he was contacted by a member of Section 31, a Commander Eugene Davis.  He knew of Jaycen’s genetic and criminal background and offered him a spot within the unknown department of Star Fleet of Section 31, where his unique abilities would be put to good use.  After agreeing to join, he was released shortly afterwards and taken within Section 31’s training program.  Since the program focused on what he had already been trained in, he was graduated fairly quickly.  He would stay with the Marine Corps, detached to do assignments for Section 31 when needed.  Until the Klingon/Federation Conflict started, most of his assignments had to deal with getting into various computer systems.
           

With the start of the K/F Conflict, Jaycen was saddened to learn that his home was the first Federation casualty.  The small colony apparently held a tactical purpose for the Klingons and was wiped out.  Thankfully, his brother was on a delivery run during the attack.  He managed to talk his brother out of following him into the service and realize what he could do in if he stayed in his position as captain of a cargo hauler.  They stay in contact whenever they can, though they haven’t seen each other in person for nearly five years.  As part of the Evening Angels platoon, he helped fight off a Klingon incursion on the station but was severely wounded when the fight went hand to hand.  It was seven months before he was returned to active duty.  Jaycen was given a Promotion and Commendation for his actions during that fight. 


            During the time that he spent healing, he completed several programs for Section 31 that would help them cut through Klingon Firewalls.  Also, he made friends with the supply sergeant and a weapons engineer in his marine division that had been hurt in the same attack as him.  During one of their discussions, the engineer, Wallace Derring, told Jaycen that he had been working a new kind of weapon that would be effective against the Borg.  Since the Borg was a more serious threat, at least when they were in town, Jaycen and the Sergeant began prying for information.  Jaycen, having an advantage that the other two didn’t put an inquiry into Section 31 for any information on the weapon in question.  While he received a confirmation that there was such a weapon, he didn’t get any more information on it.  So, the three of them started working on their own version.  Jaycen has the only copy of the weapon since it is a prototype.  Essentially, it is a Compression rifle with an automatic rifle attached underneath.  He is still trying to work the quirks out of the weapon.


            After being released from the hospital, Jaycen rejoined the Evening Angels and is deployed to Bajor.  Not there for long, the platoon is pulled just before hostilities began with the Cardassians and Dominion forces so as not to interfere with the Non-Aggression treaty that Bajor has signed with the Cardassians and Dominion.  As part of Section 31, Jaycen was alerted to a mission of their design for his platoon.  They would be sent behind enemy lines to provide intelligence and complete various other missions.  Jaycen would be put to the test a few times where some of the missions were concerned.  Only people with Omega Zeta III clearance can access the mission files.

When they returned after the end of the war, Evening Angels was disbanded due to personnel loss.  50 people had started the mission, 12 returned alive.  Jaycen, OIC of the platoon, handed the tags of the deceased to the Company commander.  After attending the ceremony for the missing and deceased, he was assigned to the first platoon he had served with, the Black Knights.  A month after being reassigned to the Black Knights, they were deployed to Windsor VII.  Located at the edge of Federation space, the planet was part of the Federation.  A rogue group had started a civil war on the planet and the Black Knights were assigned to aid the Windsor Government against the rebels.  For nearly a year and half, they assisted the government’s security force in actions against the rebels.  Jaycen was field promoted to Staff Sergeant and had it confirmed a month later.  In July of 2378, the rebel forces surrendered and order was restored on the planet.  The Black Knights, after refilling available slots with new personnel, were assigned to ship board duty on the USS Vymer.  Jaycen was given a few recon missions from Section 31 during this time against possible enemies of the Federation.  With the completion of his last mission, he found out that he was being reassigned to another ship and given a promotion to Gunnery Sergeant on the USS Alliance.  He is to be the new Assistant Intelligence Officer aboard the ship.
