FFVII: Advent Children FAQ

The following page is a translation of two FAQs that were written by Japanese fans of the movie. I have taken out what I thought was important (nearly the complete FAQs) and combined them together. It mainly aims to answer the many similar questions that viewers had after watching the movie and so there will be many spoilers.

Also note that the Japanese fans make reference to a replica script book and an Omega book. The replica script book as the name suggests, contains the script used in making the FFVII:AC movie and comes with the Limited Edition pack only. The "Omega" book on the other hand, is the "FFVII: Ultimania Omega" book which was released a few days just before the movie and contains lots of deep insight into the original FFVI game.

Finally, you may also want to know that Tetsuya Nomura, the director behind the movie said the following:

FFVII:AC is piece of work made by Japanese people. In Hollywood movies, I think there is a tendency where the meaning of all the scenes have to be expressed clearly but, this isn't something like that. With our work, the viewer is free to decide how they interpret or enjoy it. The staff has their own answers to all the scenes in the movie such as the angel statue that makes an appearance many times. But, even if someone who have watched it interprets it differently then that is just another answer. I guess "comparing answers" with friends is one of the ways you can enjoy the movie. I think FFVII:AC is a movie that makes those who have watched it, want to talk about it with others.

So, with that all in mind, please select which version of the FAQ you wish to read.

I also recommend reading the FFVII:AC articles at FlareGamer.
It gives some more interesting insight into the movie
(mainly translated commentary) as well as a little
biography about Tetsuya, the man himself.
