Hi there, thanks for popping into Sachabreen!

My name is Alison Carter and my small home style cattery is registered with the GCCF - the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy.

I chose the name for my cattery by combining the names of my first two Persian girls, Sacharelle and Sabrina. Being white and black respectively, they illustrate the very lightest and very darkest of this wonderful Persian breed. Of course every colour in between is just as stunningly beautiful!

Alison

I live with my husband Bruce, two retired show retrievers and 8 beautiful Persian cats in a small village near Kings Lynn in Norfolk. Although I’ve owned retrievers for over twenty years, there has always been a cat in my house, in fact from before I was born!

My future breeding plans at Sachabreen include blacks, whites, blues, creams, blue creams, torties, tortie and whites and bi-colours.  With over 200 beautiful colours one has to try to be focused!

I’ve been so lucky to share my life for the past fifteen years with this stunning breed. My first in 1993 was a Chocolate Point called Jucridor Chocolate Fleur – pet name, Pollyanna Pushkins! She decided almost immediately however that her extra special someone was not me at all but my eldest son! She absolutely doted on him and more often than not slept in his room at night, waking him up every morning by washing his ears!  (At least I knew they got done!) When I lost her at only ten years, (youngish for a Persian), to a passing inconsiderate and very fast car, it taught me a very valuable and utterly heartbreaking lesson. I still feel terribly guilty to this day that I allowed her free outside. We were all devastated.  I have since moved from that house and now my cats are only outside when in their large airy cattery. This way I know they get some fresh air, are completely safe with plenty of toys and climbing furniture, and are only out there when I am at home.

I currently have 8 cats living here at Sachabreen:

Ch Dayzee Bemyguest - In March 2009, we had a wonderful addition to the family - Rio - a stunning red & white bicolour boy from Sylvia Day at Dayzee Persians. Many, many thanks Sylvia. .

And in September 2009 our beautiful blue boy Barrkudos Sky Pilot (Rossi) joined us from Barrkudos Persians, a massive thank you goes to Chris Barrell for such a loving and handsome lad.

Picturebook Sabrina - Bina - my very beautiful, very posh little black girl!

August saw the arrival of our super blue-cream baby Picturebook Sweet'n'sassy - Saskia - from my friend Daphne Haines

Ch. Sachabreen Dancing Queen - Sophie, my first home bred champion - a red bicolour girl.

And my 2 gorgeous neutered lap cats -

Picturebook Sacharelle - Sacha -  & Catarosa Loveinamist - Sienna - tortie & white - are both very much loved and pampered lap cats.

(Actually they all are as they're all totally adored, rule the roost and spoilt to bits!!)

Picturebook BertieStormy - my handsome blue neutered boy, brother of Sacha, went to live with my son Jonathan and his girlfriend Karen in Surrey. Jonathan sorely missed his Pollyanna and was desperate for a Persian in the house! It is with great sadness that I have to report that Stormy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 20th March 09, and his picture is now on our In Loving Memory Page.

The four Picturebook cats came from Daphne Haines at Picturbebook Persians to whom I will remain forever greatful.  I was so lucky to have found such a wonderful conscientious breeder who has also taught me so much.

Over the last seven years Daphne has become a dear friend and adviser. I can’t thank her enough for entrusting me with her gorgeous cats, and for the hours of time, support, advice and hands on attention that she has happily given me.

I aim to breed beautiful Persians as close as possible to the GCCF Standard, but more importantly, to breed happy healthy confidant cats of good solid type with excellent loving temperaments. My babies will only ever be reared indoors, and as I don’t work outside the home, my cats (and dogs!) have lots of attention and are well used to normal household life.  By the way, all my kittens’ new mums and dads will need to conform to the Sachabreen Standard by having excellent ‘cattitudes’ toward feline loving and caring, be open to advice, and display happy sunny temperaments themselves!

All Sachabreen kittens will be placed in indoor homes only………remember Pollyanna……
