CITATION:
For outstanding performance of duty while serving as a virtual Marine Aviator assigned to Tailhook Squadron Marine Detachment, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, from April through December 2009. During that period, CHUMLEY enthusiastically participated in no less than 18 Tailhook Squadron missions, amassing over 46 hours of flight time in 12 different airframes. CHUMLEY'S ever-improving, impressive airmanship, pride and professionalism, and esprit de corps contributed to the success of Tailhook Squadron during its first year in commission. CHUMLEY'S obvious interest in aviation and loyal devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the virtual United States Marine Corps.
